Statement
I’m seeking your support to continue as branch Co-Convenor, having taken on the role since November to fill a vacancy.
Whilst the branch’s time has rightly been focused on successfully electing 10 Green councillors over the past year, with no elections scheduled in the next 12 months, there’s an opportunity to concentrate on developing our branch and other activities. I want to help lead an engaging range of activities, including:
- Reviewing how we can better support our local teams and sub-branches.
- Putting a structure in place for members to be able to help shape the work of our councillors, and our MSP.
- Building a renewed relationship with the party nationally, with a clear role for Edinburgh branch in our national structure.
Having previously served as on the party’s Elections and Campaigns Committee, including a term as Co-Convenor, as well as on the Edinburgh branch committee between 2015 and 2018, I have considerable experience of party roles. In particular, I’ve played a key organising role in every election campaign since I joined the party in 2014, locally and nationally, and have worked tirelessly to develop our campaigning capacity.
In my day job, I’m a Policy and Public Affairs manager for a national charity, and as a Gorgie resident for the past 12 years, I’m still celebrating finally having a Green councillor!
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my relatively short spell as Co-Convenor, and would love to continue in the role with your support.
