Statement
What do I want to see?
Rent controls - housing is a human right, not a place to make profit
Tackle inequality - protect disadvantaged people
Raise pay in social care - to improve standards
Affordable community-led spaces - community diners, social supermarkets
Fix potholes - core issues build trust with voters
Increase efficiency in Council - people need results now
Electric car and bikeshare schemes - making daily life easier and greener
Integrate and expand public transport - one ticket travel, prioritise new South Sub tram/train line
Local Economics - Preston model circular economy
Why me?
I founded and led an Ecovillage community for over 5 years
I created, led and facilitated a network of over 30 charities and community organisations.
I have worked alongside Councillors, MSPs and MPs to achieve concrete results for my communities
I created and run a local group in Edinburgh in which men provide free mentoring for teenage boys
I believe I am somebody with the skills to get things done
I’ve been homeless, I’ve lived on benefits, I’ve worked zero-hours, on farms, in offices, at Sighthill industrial estate, in Niddrie and Balerno as a youth worker
I’ve run my own business, I’ve been to university, I’ve been an immigrant, I’m a father
I’ve been an environmental and social activist for over 25 years
I can connect with a wide variety of people
I want to make the Scottish Greens THE choice for ordinary people and realise our vision of the best possible future for all!
