Connal Hughes

I managed Jule Bandel’s winning 2022 council campaign while increasing our vote as a non-target candidate. I’m a regular campaign volunteer in Leith, active in our Holyrood and council by-election campaigns. I’ve managed campaigns, organised volunteers and communications, and turn up to knock doors and deliver leaflets for other Green candidates.

I am a Leith Community Councillor & member of Living Rent, having campaigned on issues from housing and development. I want to use that energy, experience and local knowledge in the council.

I am standing in Forth because Edinburgh Council must do more to tackle inequality and the climate crisis, protect public services & nature, and challenge the rich and powerful class who threaten our communities.

I have already spent over 12 years campaigning on these issues, working for Friends of the Earth Scotland winning stronger climate laws, action for clean air and leading the fight against fracking and Rosebank & Cambo oil fields.

I will work hard for Forth constituents and those marginalised in our city. Councillors should stay accountable to Green members whose work will elect us, bringing in your ideas and energy to help us achieve even more.

I work professionally in campaign communications, doing press, supporter email & social media. My experience will boost our election campaign & amplify the great work of our Green councillors.
