    Statement

    I’m seeking re-election because I want to keep serving the city and branch by continuing my work for housing and climate justice in the council.

    For the city, my track record includes:

    • Delivering hundreds of millions of pounds extra investment in housing by changing the law around how social housing can be financed, and by securing tourist tax funds for housing too
    • Pushing the council to declare a nature emergency and negotiating record breaking investment for nature in the budget
    • Introducing a world leading fossil fuel advertising ban
    • Running a successful campaign to ban arms companies from testing equipment in public parks
    • Setting the council on a pathway to implementing rent controls

    And, as a local councillor, highlights include:

    • Campaigning alongside schools and residents to defend the Greenbank-Meadows Quiet Route
    • Supporting the creation of a neighbourhood cargo bike library
    • Helping deliver numerous road safety improvements, including dropped kerbs and pavement extensions

    I've done all this by working in partnership with members, campaigners and residents. In recognition of my work, I was shortlisted for LGiU’s Young Councillor of the Year.

    In the next 5-years, we have a chance to radically transform the council and the city to be a fairer and more inclusive place. I believe I have shown myself to be a capable and committed councillor over the past 5-years, and I would like your #1 vote to continue this work.

    If not enough women are selected, I will withdraw my nomination.
