I'm asking for your number 1 vote to continue as the Green candidate for Craigentinny & Duddingston. In 2017 I was elected with 11.7% of first preference votes. By 2022 that had increased to 16.5% - not only is that far higher than the increase in Green votes overall in Edinburgh across that period, it was the second highest ward increase (the highest being in Leith Walk). This time my aim would be to get us across that 20% mark that guarantees a councillor in the first round of counting.

As a non-binary councillor I have been a staunch defender of the trans community, and was the proposer of the motion that led to Edinburgh Council formally condemning the EHRC's new guidance with regard to trans inclusion as discriminatory and unworkable. I have also worked hard on Education, Children and Families Committee to ensure that toilet provision for trans children in schools is as good as it can be given the restrictions set by government and urged the Scottish govt to review those restrictions.

I have also sought to represent those who work at night by successfully calling for the appointment of a night-time coordinator to ensure our city is a safe and friendly place to live and work in after dark.

In the ward itself I worked with fellow ward councillors to get lighting in Baronscourt Park, the council to agree to try to get the Piershill Community Flat operating again and for a masterplan for Cavalry Park.
