Pronouns
Why would you like to be elected to the role(s) you are standing for?
I was previously co-opted onto the role of ordinary member for sub-branch member support working group. I really enjoyed my role as a volunteer coordinator, seeing so many people putting themselves forward to help make Edinburgh Green, but also facilitate others to their full potential. I want to keep this momentum going, using the existing pool of volunteers, and trying to reduce any barriers to participation. Examples of this are the 2 virtual let's get started sessions for door-knocking I organised, which helped people commit and feel comfortable in going out door-knocking. I want to continue to upskill existing volunteers (if they are willing) and to consider taking on more organisational tasks within the party. Please vote for me!
What skills, knowledge and life experience would you bring to the role(s) you are standing for?
I come from a background of attempts at activism, from LGBTQ+ inclusive education to trade union duties at my workplace. These experiences, alongside my training as a pharmacist have helped me navigate service development, creating good rapport and managing a high workload. Working in a high pressure environment such as a surgical ward in the NHS has also provided me with a pragmatic view and use of resources, diverting when required and focusing on the priorities at hand. I am also the recepient of the Equality Award from the Scottish Trade Union Congress and I hope that will be apparent in the work I do.
