Alan Munro (he/him)
Pronouns
Why would you like to be elected to the role(s) you are standing for?
I have been a long-standing member of Edinburgh Greens, though I have not yet taken on a formal role within the group. After becoming more active during the Holyrood election campaign, I am now keen to offer some of my time, energy and experience to help shape our strategy and campaigning for the next council elections.
What skills, knowledge and life experience would you bring to the role(s) you are standing for?
I am a seasoned campaigner, having coordinated the local Divest Lothian campaign over a number of years. Through this campaign, we successfully secured support from the City of Edinburgh Council for the divestment of the Lothian Pension Fund from fossil fuels.
In my day job, I am the CEO of a small charity which empowers and supports young people to engage with and campaign on marine policy issues. As part of this, I deliver campaign workshops and mentorship programmes, giving me strong experience in campaign strategy, political engagement and volunteer support.
I care deeply about building campaigns that are strategic, inclusive and rooted in our local communities.
