Andrew Brough
Why would you like to be elected to the role(s) you are standing for?
I wish to stand as WCO for Branch as it is a job I enjoy doing. I feel it benefits our members and how we treat each other within the branch. I like how I can promote respect, good metal health and make sure we resolve issues quickly and wherever possible informally as well. I enjoy the support I can give to our members when it is difficult and bring resolution to issues that arise.
What skills and experience would you bring to the role(s) you are standing for?
During 2023 – 2024 I have been involved with a much higher volume of conduct and welfare issues. Most within the branch have been dealt with in an informal way – getting people to talk through issues and differences as required.
I have also tried to engage in the much more difficult welfare aspect of the role, with help around councillor welfare/safety and several others offers of help and chatting through healthy/green volunteering balance issues.
I have been involved with Edinburgh members on the first issue above which has reported back and expect to continue with work on other formal complaint panels in the future as the number of complaints has increased recently.
Please re-elect me to this role which is an essential job within Branch.
