South West Edinburgh Greens Report - June 2024

Following discussion with active organisers in Fountainbridge/Craiglockhart,
Sighthill/Gorgie and Pentland Hills, FC and SG decided to form South West
Edinburgh Greens in May 2023. An AGM was held in August, with the following
roles allocated.

Newsletter coordinator: Daniel Milligan

The sub-branch has met its minimum requirements; monitoring its inbox,
delivering Green News, and mobilising for election campaigns.

We have also held two social events; a picnic in Saughton Park in June 2023 and
a pub evening in February 2024. The sub-branch also hosted the Green Walk in
September 2023, incorporating a tour of Edinburgh Printmakers and a route
through the history of the area's former railway lines.

The main benefit of amalgamating has been to coordinate and optimise our Green
news schedule, such that we now commission or create a hyper-local edition every
few months, working through Shandon, Fountainbridge, Dalry, Hutchisson/Chesser,
and Gorgie so that the print run is manageable for the combined core active
membership of the whole sub-branch to deliver in good time.

Take up from members to participate has been disappointing.
