Statement
I am standing for the Policy and Campaigns Officer role, a position I held in the Edinburgh Greens Committee from 2018 to 2021. I have also served on the national party Policy Committee for two years and brought and passed multiple policy motions at conference, from Rewilding to mixed-language education to working from home regulation to the fight against Islamophobia and Antisemitism.
I have significant experience in political campaigns, having stood for parliament three times and worked with Green campaign teams in every election since 2018, from organsing canvassing sessions to representing the party in local hustings. I'm a co-founder of the End Conversion Therapy Scotland campaign and Convenor of Our Republic, the organisation calling for an elected Head of State for Scotland.
After being part of the negotiations team for the post-Edinburgh Council elections results I know there's a huge amount of work to be done over the next year to make Green policies a reality in our city, and establishing ourselves ready for new national elections in years to come. This is a vital time, a turning point where every win for the environment and equality can dramatically change our future. I believe I have the experience and record that suits this role for the year ahead.
