Statement
I joined the party in 2020 as I was keen to be more actively involved at a local level. Since joining, I've been a candidate for the 2022 council elections, am the current Access and Inclusion Officer for the branch and most recently was part of the team driving the campaign for the Corstorphine/Murrayfield by election. I currently co convene the West Edinburgh Group alongside a great local activist and we've worked hard to increase a Green local presence and we've delivered our first dedicated newsletters in the West within the last year too.
I've learned alot about how the local party is structured and the importance of working with our active members to help build out the party at a local level. I firmly believe the strength of the party lies in grass roots and want to play my part in building the active party membership in Edinburgh.
I've put my name forward for Co Convenor this year because I think I've built up enough experience to do the role justice - I would really enjoy working alongside an experienced Co-Co, putting what I've learned to good use and support the local teams where I can. I'd also be keen to represent us at National Council where required.
I'm a pretty organised, structured and diligent person - I do what I say I will. I take a broad, strategic perspective to getting things done. I also think listening is really important. In my day job, I regularly chair committees and meetings so I'd expect to bring those skills if successfully elected.
