Siobhan Flannigan

I’m Siobhan, and I’m seeking nomination as a candidate for West Lothian local council elections. I was born and raised in West Lothian and have lived in Bathgate since 2021 with my family after a stint down South.

I’ve been actively involved in helping serve our community through my volunteer roles. I currently volunteer with my local Parent Council and serve as a Trustee for a local charity contributing my skills and knowledge in areas of law and governance, particularly around privacy and data protection. I have previously been a Community Councillor and was the SGP local election candidate for Bathgate in 2022. These roles have helped demonstrate the great value and importance of community involvement.

My areas of interest include community regeneration, privacy and technology oversight, public transport and active travel, and arts and culture. I think it’s vitally important that we develop strategies to invest, build infrastructure, and make use of our assets to support flourishing communities.

I want to bring my community experience, my legal and governance background, and curiosity and problem-solving approach to local government and help develop solutions that truly meet the needs of local people.
