Statement
It has been an honour to serve as Councillor for Sighthill/Gorgie. I am re-standing as I have a good record of fighting for green values here and across the city:
Protecting Gorgie farm aainst privatisation, leading the Council campaign for public toilets in Dalry/Gorgie, and supporting local people, including the evicted WASPS artists in Dalry and the Dalry Colony residents suffering noisy construction
Delivering £575k for cultural groups, recouping almost £400k from large events at Murrayfield and getting more Participatory Budget funding for deprived areas.
Protecting animal welfare and air quality by introducing Scotland’s first Firework Control Zones
Securing a commitment to free, climate-conscious school uniforms
Strengthening climate monitoring of the festivals
Blocking protest licencing that may have been disastrous for those using their right to protest
Standing up the sacked Rockstar workers, people facing immigration raids, and others needing our support
Having delivered record Green votes here and in the SW UK Parliament constituency, I have proved I can win, and then get things done when elected. https://dannheap.wixsite.com/dangreen.

For transparency, I note I am applying as a disabled person.
