Alexander Macrae (he/him)

Over the past year I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of and volunteering for the Scottish Green party, I was inspired by people like Zohran Mamdani and Zack Polanski to get more involved in politics.

I've knocked on many doors, spoken to many people and delivered lots of leaflets. Very recently I volunteered during polling day to greet voters in Portobello/ Criagmillar by-election, where we were extremely happy to get Lorenzo Martinico elected as a councillor.

More locally, regarding West Lothian, I was able to attend the first 2 WL sub branch socials and I have helped to deliver leaflets in Linlithgow.

Edinburgh (in terms of vote numbers) is the Greenest place in all of Scotland, and I believe that we will be able to spread this momentum onto West Lothian.

My number one aim is to support the candidate for our target ward, Linlithgow. To elect the first green councillor in WL council. Someone who I know will fight for a greener and fairer future, even at the most local levels.

Therefore I am putting myself forward to stand in non-target wards, to ensure everyone has a chance to vote green, my first preference being the ward I've lived in since I was a child.
