I started volunteering for the branch in March 2026 in the run-up to the Holyrood election as a Volunteer Co-ordinator. This role involved helping to manage the Volunteers inbox, recording and responding to new volunteer requests, and signposting volunteers or members in the right direction to facilitate participation and encourage involvement.

I really enjoyed being involved with the branch and getting to know fellow members and volunteers, and so I would love to continue supporting the workings of the branch through election to one of these roles. I am definitely a people person so anything that involves working with and encouraging others suits me well!

My professional background is in administration and fundraising in the charity and heritage sectors, so I’m most comfortable with administrative, data, and communications-based tasks. I can confidently create comms or training materials, and I’m a fast learner and will happily pick up whatever task is most useful.

I am also a friendly and approachable person which lends itself well to both working with these groups and to welcoming new members/volunteers. As someone that became involved with the branch fairly recently, I have a good understanding of what it's like to be a new member and what I found useful and encouraging when I first started, which I feel is a useful perspective for these roles.
