Submitting your nomination
Complete your nomination form here | The deadline for submitting nominations is Saturday 1 June.
To submit your nomination, you will need to provide a photo, statement (max 1500 characters) and a ranked list of the roles you wish to stand for. The annotated image below shows you how to fill out the nomination form.
We strongly encourage candidates to run for more than one role in the election. You do not need to submit multiple nominations for each role. You are welcome to use the statement to talk about your preferred role (ranked #1), or just explain why you'd be good for committee more generally.
You also require 2 supporters from the branch to support your nomination. If you are new to the party and would like help finding individuals to nominate you, contact the co-convenors on convenors.edin@scottishgreens.org.uk - we have a bank of friendly members who would be happy to help!
The deadline for submitting your nomination is Saturday 1 June.
*Once you have submitted your nomination, it will be screened by the branch committee. To support with this process, please email convenors.edin@scottishgreens.org.uk and notify us of your Green ID, and your supporters Green ID and email address*

*to run for these roles, you need to have been a member of the party for one year. If you do not meet this criteria, please contact convenors.edin@scottishgreens.org.uk and we can discuss options to resolve this.
We are electing a gender-balanced committee. This requires:

At least one of the co-convenors elected to be a woman

At least half of the office bearers elected to be women

At least one of the officers in each working group to be a woman

At least half of the ordinary members in each working group to be a woman
If you are non-binary, we will contact you to ask how you want to be treated in regard to gender balancing.
We encourage people to stand for election who are under-represented in Green politics or politics as a whole. This may include, though is not restricted to, any women, young greens, LGBTQ+ greens, greens of colour or disabled greens.
