Why would you like to be elected to the role(s) you are standing for?
I'm standing for co convenor this year as I'm really keen to build on the experience I've gained in the role in the last year. I've enjoyed working with the committee and meeting members in the last year. Everyone brings different perspectives but we share common values - I see the role of the co co as one of supporter, making sure everyone feels heard and able to contribute in the way that works best for them.
I've learned alot about the national party and keen to build on that in the year ahead too - it's been a busy year for both the local and national party and it's been interesting (and fun) to play a role in supporting and collaborating as issues arise and need worked through to resolution.
What skills and experience would you bring to the role(s) you are standing for?
My day job as a global climate solutions specialist involves working with lots of people in multiple countries to build consensus - this needs a range of skills, including listening, diplomacy, good organisation and working through conflict. I also sometimes just need to make a decision and be willing to accept criticism which I think is important. I'm comfortable presenting across a range of topics to both small and large groups - this year I presented to 300 people for the first time. I always aim to be a considered communicator.
I've worked with my local school parent council for a decade, delivering a safer route to school for our children.
And I live with a teenager and a 10 year old - my patience and resilience are tested daily!
