Helen McCabe

Over the past year I have been an enthusiastic and committed member of the branch committee and I'd love to continue working on building our movement and spreading the Green message! I've met so many new people since becoming more involved with the Greens and I've had so much fun getting to work on our local election campaign, and being part of such an energised, dedicated team.

I'd be delighted to help out wherever I can but my first preference is for an ordinary member position on the Policy and Campaigns Group as I have a lot of relevant experience that would make me well-suited for this role.

Relevant experience:

I've been a member of the Scottish Greens since March 2019 and I joined the branch committee last year as one of the Policy and Campaigns Officers. I also stood as a Green candidate in the local elections and led on development of the Edinburgh Greens' manifesto alongside the other Policy and Campaigns Officer.

I led on writing the health and social care section of the Holyrood 2021 manifesto and have worked on the health section of the PRD. I have also been working in health and social care policy since 2017 and I am currently a researcher for Gillian Mackay MSP so have plenty of experience of developing policy.

I also have experience of planning events and issuing comms to a range of audiences so would be happy to get involved in these areas.
