Statement
There are at the same time so many good things going for this city whilst at the same time there is so much work to be done. That's why I'm putting myself forward for the committee. I've moved around through my life, attending P6 in Oxgangs before leaving and coming back to Edinburgh for Uni. After another stint abroad I moved back 2 years ago to be closer to family during increasingly challenging times. My motley CV spans from vegetarian cafe worker, and green-roof labourer, to academia, and I'm now working in life science logistics. Since returning to Edinburgh I've been involved in a joint Refugee Community Kitchen and Shrub food-share project, and in bringing back monthly Critical Mass bike rides. I now want to be involved in empowering our membership and supporting our councillors in making Edinburgh a sustainable and inclusive city where its residents can thrive. Particular interests of mine include the issues of accessibility/public transport/active travel, welfare/housing, and green space access/biodiversity. I value transparency and ensuring diverse voices are heard in the discussion. It's been a pleasure to campaign for the recent national and local elections and I am excited about where the party is going.
