Statement
I currently hold one of the Policy and Campaign Officer roles on the Edinburgh branch committee and if elected again, I will use my experience and learnings from the past year to better support the committee, branch, MSPs/councillors, and candidates for the Council elections. During the Holyrood campaign, I was primarily involved in supporting and liaising with MSP candidates in several ways including:
- Coordinating and distributing monthly MSP and councillor reports with the branch
- Supporting MSP candidates' campaign activities including drafting policy video scripts and creating social media content in a variety of languages.
- Supporting the policy and campaign side of the branch and social media communications, including working on the Lothian Campaign Board's communications working group
I do as much organising for the branch and committee as I can outside of my main duties as well. I bring an antiracist, inclusive, and intersectional feminist approach to everything I do.
It has been a joy to hold this role and if elected for another term, I am eager to work more closely with candidates and committee members on developing the council manifesto with a Lothian-specific lens and to support candidates as much as possible with their election campaigns.
