Statement
I'd like to ask for your support to become one of the Edinburgh branch co-convenors. I’ve been a SGP voter and member for 15 years, part of the national Policy Committee for 7 years, and more recently, active in the City Centre local team.
I’m now in my third term as co-convenor of Policy Committee, a role I really enjoy as it's all about engaging the membership in developing our Party’s policy – one of the many things that makes the SGP special. I also co-chair Conference Organising Committee and will do until autumn 2021. In both roles I hope I have demonstrated sound skills at chairing meetings, facilitating workshops, running events, and generally keeping both groups well organised and on track.
In my day job I’m a manager for an environmental charity, where I’ve worked for 20 years. It's a role that's all about team leadership, big project delivery, budget management, collaboration and partnership working – experience and skills I can bring to this role. Ultimately, both are about making positive change happen with a team of hugely committed people but not as much time or resource as we’d like.
The next year is going to be such an important one for the branch, with an opportunity to grow our group of fantastic Green Councillors. I’d like to play my part by making sure the branch and committee are as supported, organised and motivated as possible, so everyone involved has the chance to contribute their particular skills to make the campaign a really successful one.
