Statement
I grew up in Slovakia, moving to Scotland almost 11 years ago to study. After graduating from the University of Aberdeen I moved to Edinburgh and have lived here for the past 5 years. I've been a party member for these 5 years, never really engaging with the party beyond my membership, however this changed during the election when I got involved with the local campaign team in Leith.
The atmosphere and sense of community that I felt during this time made me want to be more involved in the local branch and this is why I decided to stand for the Edinburgh Committee. I’ve always been political and had strong opinions on what has been happening around me and I want be part of the change I want to see.
I strongly believe that our representatives should reflect the people who are part of our community and live here. As a queer, autistic woman who works and rents in Edinburgh, I have the lived experience to understand the different types of issues that affect our members on day to day basis. I want to bring this experience to the committee and help shape our branch based on my values and beliefs. This is especially important to me with the upcoming council election next year.
