Statement
As a long time supporter of the Greens, I have been most active during election campaigns, delivering leaflets, attending hustings and organised events. I feel it's time to take on a more direct role.
I have had direct campaigning experience as a student, being part of the 2010 GE local campaign, attending the count and in turn being selected as a councillor in a Bournemouth Ward in 2011. My first preference role is for Elections Agent, the reason being is that I have shadowed Martin Broad, an excellent campaign manager when I studied at Bournemouth University.
As an activist, I have participated in protests through Xtinction Rebellion, Critical Mass Cycle and also through LGBTQ+ Pride events.
My most recent political organising experience has been as a member of Equity, where I stood for committee, and raised questions on exploitation at the Edinburgh Fringe to be taken our AGM. This involved working with Fair Fringe and facilitating a meeting with the Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Fringe Shona McCarthy. I feel this shows a track record of being proactive and taking the initiative, making new contacts and creating dialogue with interested parties. I feel I would be an asset to the Edinburgh Greens as I have the passion to raise the right questions but to also actively listen to the wider membership and facilitate their concerns and ideas.
