Statement
I’ve been a member since early 2014, and have volunteered on election campaigns since then. I also volunteered on the successful campaign to secure rights of way across the Astley Ainslie hospital site. I have a science degree, have been membership secretary of a sports club for five years and have a good knowledge of Edinburgh. My first preference is ordinary member, as I would be new on the committee and would be willing to help with its work and the local election campaign however needed.
I’m particularly interested in exploring whether we can catch up with the other main parties in terms of our use of household-level targeting. Identifying and focusing on those most likely to vote Green could allow us to canvass and deliver materials more efficiently, and cover more polling districts within target-to-win wards. As commercial demographic databases are too expensive, targeting could involve data like the typical age range of a given first name.
I’m keen to help Greens get elected in all of our target wards, and would put in the time and effort to help achieve this.
