Statement
I've been a member since 2009, and a comms volunteer most of that time, working on Green News, website, e-newsletter, media library and social media. I'm active in my sub-branch, currently admin secretary and a leaflet delivery organiser. Last year I was elected branch Communications Officer and would like to continue in this role. For me, some highlights have been:
- Using social media to help almost double funds raised through our annual online Auction of Promises
- Setting up a new colour-coded website calendar, including events from other organisations and consultation deadlines
- Starting up a series of interview articles with campaigners for the website
This year I'd like to help get together a team of content creators and editors, so that we can reach more people through our comms. I'd also like to do some further website development to accommodate the new sub-branch structure (if that's approved) and to develop a campaigning section.
