Statement
Linlithgow has been by home for 16 years. I’ve immersed myself in community life, in a professional, personal, family, and voluntary capacity, promoting climate action, active travel and local food.
I became a Community Councillor in 2016 after leading a successful campaign against bus cuts. This gave me insight into the workings of West Lothian Council and the need to strengthen local democracy.
My career spans policy, research and communications in the government and charity sectors, with an expertise in housing, regeneration, and young people.
For 5 years I worked for Linlithgow Community Development Trust, supporting locally led projects, such as the West Lothian Cycle Circuit. And I now volunteer as a Board Trustee.
In 2022 Council elections I was the SGP candidate for the target ward of Linlithgow, securing 941 votes. Running that campaign taught me so much!
Since then, my work involves advising local groups across Scotland who are setting up community-led organisations.
I am hugely concerned about the global poly-crises facing us all. We must shift society quickly towards living sustainably and being more locally resilient, with local government supporting communities through this in just and inclusive ways.
I absolutely love helping people and supporting local communities. It would be an honour to be a Scottish Green Councillor for my own community, and a strong Green voice within West Lothian Council.
