Born and brought up in Livingston, I’ve seen how successive councils have failed our town and I hope that with a strong Green presence at next May’s council elections we can demand better for Livingston.

I have lived in West Lothian my entire life, and almost entirely in the Livingston South ward that I am asking you to select me for once again. I am proud to have represented the Scottish Greens in Livingston South at the 2022 elections, and at the by-election in 2021, as well as the Livingston constituency in the past two Westminster elections, and I was proud to stand alongside Gillian Mackay MSP as our only West Lothian member on our Holyrood regional list.

My politics and personal views are rooted in care and justice. I want people of Edinburgh to live in a city that belongs to them, living in comfortable housing that’s affordable, attending schools that cater to different needs and interests, and enjoy this beautiful place as their safe and welcoming home.
I work in sustainability, and I am an actor. I have worked in education and child care, elderly care, and hospitality where I got the chance to meet people with different needs and learn about the problems our city faces. I’m an active member of Living Rent, I sing in a community choir, and I am currently in rehearsals for ‘Gazan Women’ which discusses Palestinian experiences of the genocide.
With Living Rent, I experienced the frustration of meeting with councillors who were out of touch with community needs.
I was a co-chair for South East Edinburgh Greens for two years, where I campaigned on local issues including road closures and I helped organised a community event where we made wild flower seed packets.
At my workplace I am a mental health first aider and my background in sociology and psychology means that I cherish the opportunity to listen to people’s concerns and provide care and a safe place for them to express how they feel.

I have lived in East Livingston and East Calder for almost ten years, so I know it well. I am Clerk for our sub-branch, campaigned during the Holyrood elections and recent Edinburgh byelections, and now I am one of our organisers for the 2027 elections. I have loved every minute, and I want to do more to make a real difference. I work in marketing, which has given me years of experience in writing, campaigns and public speaking.

In this ward, Craigshill is one of our most deprived communities and sits side by side with some of our least deprived, yet neither is well served.

More than 10,000 people in West Lothian are waiting for social housing, growing far faster than affordable homes are delivered.

Since Covid buses have almost vanished. Travelling within West Lothian often means an expensive train into Edinburgh and back out again. Anyone who can afford it is pushed into a car.

These issues hit women, LGBTQ+ people and people with disabilities disproportionately. I am woman with two disabilities, so I understand.

I would love to win in my home ward to help fix these issues, but our priority is electing our first-ever Green councillor in Linlithgow, and I will do everything I can to make it happen. The Greens have shown that we can make a real difference on the ground with even one councillor.

Hi there! I’m Gabriel, 23, originally from Mexico, and work in hospitality, with previous experience in climate diplomacy and youth movements. I care about making politics accessible, showing people that local government can deliver, and maximising our city’s impact in the world.

I work in my preferred ward, City Centre, and live by its boundary. I want to highlight local challenges around transport, conditions of gig workers, and over-tourism.

More broadly, I’ll advocate for more consistent and predictable public transport and active travel funding. The review of the Visitor Levy next council term will especially allow us to shape revenue levels and where we spend it. These are key steps to successfully deliver a full tram extension, our City Mobility Plan, and our backlog of active travel projects.

I would use every lever available to the council, and refocus our Scottish Government engagement, to build more council homes, complementing existing work on repurposing empty homes and more strongly regulating PBSAs and STLs. Unions such as Living Rent should be meaningfully engaged throughout.

There’s great potential in leading national and international city-wide campaigns, whilst learning from what other cities can teach us. On Palestine, over-tourism, climate, and mass transit delivery, working with other cities can catalyse collective action and information sharing, and better pressure governments.

As the Green candidate in the recent Southside/Newington by-election, I knocked on thousands of doors, attended community events, and engaged with businesses and residents in person and online. I used my past experience as a student and my relationships with University of Edinburgh groups to advise on strategy and recruit volunteers. The campaigning I have just done gives me a solid knowledge of the issues that sit closest with people, from massive data centres to lack of community centres and safe active travel routes. I know how to be a proactive candidate and am prepared with local knowledge crucial for a successful 2027 campaign.

Alongside sitting on Branch and Women's Network committees, I run the Branch's student engagement campaign. Since the start of the academic year, I have encouraged hundreds of students to register to vote, and have started a dialogue with student organisers around Palestine, divestment, and university cuts.

Outside of the Greens, I live in the Southside/Newington ward and work as a gardener. I also volunteer with the energy charity Changeworks, run a permaculture garden, and do conservation work within communities across Edinburgh. Representing Sighthill/Gorgie since 2022, I have built strong working relationships with community activists and organisations, while seeking to amplify the voices of marginalised people and groups.

Linlithgow has been by home for 16 years. I’ve immersed myself in community life, in a professional, personal, family, and voluntary capacity, promoting climate action, active travel and local food.

I became a Community Councillor in 2016 after leading a successful campaign against bus cuts. This gave me insight into the workings of West Lothian Council and the need to strengthen local democracy.

My career spans policy, research and communications in the government and charity sectors, with an expertise in housing, regeneration, and young people.

For 5 years I worked for Linlithgow Community Development Trust, supporting locally led projects, such as the West Lothian Cycle Circuit. And I now volunteer as a Board Trustee.

Having won us our first byelection in Edinburgh last month, I would like to continue to represent Portobello/Craigmillar for the next term. I am planning to be very present across the whole ward until May, and with the last campaign still fresh I will have good visibility for next year. I will use this time to learn how to become an effective councillor, and identify key issues for the manifesto and campaigning in the ward. There is appetite in the subbranch to start canvassing already, and as a new councillor I want to talk to as many constituents as I can.

Policy-wise, I am currently focusing on Active travel and pedestrianisation, Circular and Wellbeing economy, and Equalities; and supporting portfolio holders as needed to get a broad experience of committees. I am working with MSPs and councillors from other authorities on issues I campaigned on, water quality and AI. And I will work with the group to prepare training and induction for the new cohort.

Besides the council, I work for a number of local and national co-operatives. Previously I was part of the branch EDI working group and in the Holyrood core team, and I co-wrote 2 of the AI motions coming to conference this month.

I was born and raised in Edinburgh, and after leaving for university, I spent 13 years away from the city (in St Andrews, France, Palestine, Jordan, Switzerland, Glasgow then London) before moving back home in 2024. I've spent most of my career working for human rights and social justice nonprofits, and I now work as Kate Nevens’ parliamentary officer in Holyrood. Since being elected in 2022, I’ve worked hard to progress Green values in Edinburgh Council. From advocating for minoritised groups, fighting third sector cuts, and being the first politician in Scotland to call for a moratorium on data centres, I’m not afraid to be outspoken for what our members believe in. Hello, I am Callum, originally from Nottingham but grew up in a town called Keith in the North of Scotland. I lived in Aberdeen for 6 years before recently moving to Edinburgh. Having Edinburgh now becoming my home, I want to play an active role in improving the community and making the residents have a strong green voice on the council.

I have been heavily involved in the Scottish Greens over the past few years including as the staff campaign organiser for the North East region and Moray during the Holyrood Campaign and the Aberdeen South Westminster by-election. Hiya, my name is Robyn Kane, long time voter first time candidate! I would like to stand for the Liberton and Gilmerton ward where I've spent most of my life living and working. This includes my volunteering in the housing sector where I have served as chairperson in my local residents association for eight years. I initially got involved in tenant participation because of faulty windows in my house. This got me involved with Gilmerton and Inch community council and later on Edinburgh Tenants Federation where I have now been a member of their executive committee for 6 years.

Since becoming a community activist I have prevented a plot of green space from being built on and instead the area has been rewilded and upgraded for community use and I have received the Tenants Information Services National Excellence Award for this work.

I think I'd make a good councillor because I want to help more people. I'm looking to represent people like me who have struggled with mental health issues, poverty and injustice from a faulty system. I think I could help resolve issues in the area that have been going unnoticed for years such as:

I grew up in Linlithgow. I spent my youth attending Linlithgow Primary and the Academy. While I moved to Stirling for University my family has always stayed in Linlithgow and I've maintained my own personal connection to the town and local area. I think Linlithgow is a wonderful place to grow up and raise a family but I also recognise the challenges of both here.

I have trained as both a scientist and a teacher. I recognise the threat the climate crisis poses, the extintion event we are currently in, and the damage Humanity is doing to our planet. I also understand that there are projects ongoing around the world to combat these and I want Scotland to be a part of them.

I believe learning is something we never stop doing. For several years I have worked in education and my own personal goal is to improve education in Scotland by giving teachers the support that has been cut from them year after year, as well as support other public services like transport and the NHS, both of which are in desperate need our support.

In my work in schools and with Scouts I have helped many different LGBT+ people to process their own journeys and handle the hardships they faced along the way, using my own and others experiences to help guide them. I believe in equal rights for all and I understand the need to fight for this now more than ever.

I believe in the SGP and I believe we are the best future for UK Politics, Scottish Independence and for a fairer society for all.
