Statement
I believe building a green and just world starts with local leadership, aligning social, economic, and climate justice in our words and actions. I care about elevating youth voices, combining local policy with a global outlook. Combined, these values shape the focus of my candidacy.
Our campaign should showcase how our 2022 manifesto leaves us best placed to deliver local priorities. Partnering with the local sub-branch, I’m keen to emphasise public services, public transport, and public spaces.
- Tories SNP and Labour have gutted local services. We should champion improving the accessibility of health, education, and leisure centres. In line with manifesto pledges, I want to protect and grow funding for mental health services, libraries, and leisure centres.
- Strong public transport is the backbone of a safe and healthy city. The 7-7-7 bus lane trials and the City Mobility Plan should be the foundation of our strategy to sustainably connect our city and communities.
- Fountainbridge/ Craiglockhart hosts many vibrant public spaces. I’ll work with community councils to identify communities needing improved access to these spaces, or new spaces altogether.
I’ve sat on Edinburgh Branch committee, been Co-President of the Edinburgh University Greens, and councilmember for the Young Greens. I also research policy in youth NGO’s, specialising on boosting youth political engagement. I have the skills and experience needed to energise volunteers and lead a successful campaign.
