I am standing as Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group Officer to continue contributing to the important work of the working group. As an ordinary member in the last year, I represented the working group in the Holyrood campaign team, focusing on engagement with marginalised voter communities. Having learned a lot from this, I would like to build on the experience and the Councillor's group work on candidate development to help us run a more inclusive 2027 campaign, winning the votes and trust of voters that we haven't always spoken to. While the committee's focus on an election year is rightly focused on campaigning, I would also like us to continue previous years' work in reviewing the branch's internal practices.

I see the remit of the working group as intersectional, and as part of this role I would like to work with committee on how branch engages with volunteers experiencing marginalisation, in particular around class and wealth. In the last year, a significant challenge has been the lack of internal demographics data and feedback mechanisms - I would like to continue our ongoing work on establishing these.

While I think I could positively contribute to this role, if a sufficient number of women or candidates that experience multiple marginalisation have put themselves forward, I would encourage members to rank me below them.

I'm re-standing for the position in the events team as it's responsible for, what I think are, the two most important goals of the party – community building and political education.

I believe we should community build within our own party as well as local areas in our city, through events, meetings and lectures.

I also think the party needs to focus on showing our members and the wider public that there are different ways of running our society then just trying the same neo-liberal status quo. I’d like to continue our series of Green Talks which already introduced many people to new ideas.

While I wasn’t successful I’d also like to continue to try to get my heroes Greta Thunberg or Naomi Klein to speak at one of our events.

I've been organising Edinburgh Branch for a few years now, I've delivered multiple lectures and meetings, both live and online, and organised quite a few community building events.

I have been very active in the party on the national level for many years and I am now hoping to turn my focus more local, to Edinburgh. I want to bring service to the Edinburgh branch in a time of rapid growth. The branch team has done such an amazing job for the Holyrood elections, and the committee need to support the campaign team to do a similarly amazing job to with the local elections. This involves supporting sustainably what is going well and helping to improve on the areas where we need it. I hope that you will vote for me!

I have been a member of the national Policy Committee for five years, the last three years as Co-convener, and thus also a member of the Executive Committee. In this role I have led the work on supporting our democracy by helping bringing motions to conference. I also worked on the democratic process to bring the Holyrood Manifesto. I have been a member of the Womens Network Committee for the last four years. I was a candidate for the Holyrood election just passed. I have been on my local Community Council for five years, the latter as Chair. I am a scientist by training, I am a founder and inventor of environmentally safer concrete. I live in the very west of the city, married with two big kids, a dog and some very small chickens.

I’m standing to be the External Communications Officer. Having played a part at both Branch and Sub-branch levels in the last few Holyrood and Council elections, I’m keen to help us keep up the momentum and replicate our 2026 success. We have a fantastic and growing campaign team – I'm very excited at our prospects for 2027 Council election and can't wait to get cracking.

My other choices for a Committee role are: Ordinary Member for either External Comms, Sub-branches & Member Support, or Elections & Campaigns.

I'm one of the team of comms volunteers running our Edinburgh Greens website and calendar. I’ve written and designed numerous leaflets for the Branch and for our election campaigns over the years, and handled the printing.

I’ve been Membership Secretary and a campaign organiser of my Sub-branch (SEEG) for years, so I’m familiar with our Forest membership/email system, our canvassing systems, and organising leaflet delivery runs.

My day job is at a workers co-operative in the design and print industry, and I’ve previously worked in website design and development. I have a good understanding of accessible design, and I can write press releases. As I work part-time, I have plenty of free time to for a Committee role and Green volunteering.

I want to help more Green Councillors, MSP's and MP's get elected. I am interested in this role because I want to learn more about policy development and implementation and I feel comfident that I have the skills for this role.

My career main experience is in community development, volunteering and sustainable transport but I have also worked in mental health services and in Equality, Diveristy and Inclusion. I am currently a carer. My relevant skills are facilitation, project management, administration, partnership works, teamwork and management. I have brough together final reports from colloaborative research projects too. I like helping other people through setbacks.

Having been Comms Officer for several years, I'd like to take on the more specialised role of Internal Comms Officer to focus on improving comms systems and procedures. I'm also keen to improve member engagement through making better use of the comms channels we have and researching alternatives.

If elected as an Internal Comms Ordinary Member, I feel well-placed to support systems and procedures development as well as taking on tasks to free up the Internal Comms Officer to work on development projects.

I'd also like the role of Sub-branch and Member Support Ordinary Member. I think that having been active in my sub-branch for many years and having a comms background, makes me well-placed to help develop resources for sub-branches.

I have over 30 years working in comms as a graphic and web information designer, project manager and web-content developer. I'm an experienced comms volunteer for Edinburgh Greens including using Forest for e-mailouts, developing and updating the website, and helping set up systems. I'm used to learning IT systems and enjoy exploring what they can do.

I am putting myself forward as Treasurer for one more year in the spirit of deepening the organisational memory of the branch by building on my experience as Treasurer in the 2022 Local Government election.

If elected, I will work closely with the campaigns team for the 2027 election. I will also aim to further develop the work on subbranch budgeting and forecasting, and continue strengthening the financial sustainability of the Edinburgh branch.

I have also put myself forward for Policy Officer, in which I would use my previous committee (and wider party) experience to facilitate a collaborative election manifesto process.

My work in Production Accounting means I am very familiar with managing budgets and accounts processing. I was also a member of the Scottish Green Party Finance and Fundraising Committee in 2024/25.

I was involved as Treasurer in the campaigns teams of the 2019 Westminster, 2021, 2026 Holyrood, and 2022 Local Council elections. I also have experience in political organising, events production and facilitation from referendum campaigns and other social justice work, as well as providing people-grounded HR support as a charity trustee.

I would look to bring this experience to all of the roles I have given as preferences, with the aim of contributing to an inclusive and supportive branch committee.

Being involved in the Greens recent Scottish Parliament elections campaign was one of the most exciting and positive experiences with politics I have ever had. I volunteered to support Kate Nevens (MSP!) emails and I helped to upskill the volunteers for the other candidates emails. The council wins by our sister party in England should show us that there is absolutely no reason why we can't replicate that success in Edinburgh in 2027. I would love the opportunity to stand as a Policy Officer and as an ordinary member for the Election & Campaigns or the EDI Working Group. Every year Edinburgh gets more diverse and I want to help encourage everyone to feel represented in the Party.

When managing Kate Nevens mailbox during the recent election, I was able to email over 1500 people from across Edinburgh and Lothians. This helped me gain a unique perspective on which aspects of the Scottish Greens manifesto was resonating most with constituents. Since first attending Heriot-Watt 11 years ago I have lived across Edinburgh, I am a young member and I am married in a mixed-race relationship. As a result of all of this I have a good perspective on the issues that matter most to people across the city in the next council elections. I have a Masters degree in International Relations and an area of interest of mine is identifying policy ideas that have worked across the world that we could use to benefit Edinburgh.

I started volunteering with the Edinburgh Greens because I wanted to put my time and efforts into causes I believe in (environmental & social justice) instead of just reading the news and feeling despondent. I have found the group to be very welcoming and helpful, and enjoyed going to the meetings, canvassing and performing music for the Leith walk stall with Q and Kate. This has inspired me to get even more involved! I am very interested in policy writing and would love to get hands on experience in how policies and manifestos are written. I also have a lot of ideas for events that I could help organise.

I am doing a part time PhD in textiles engineering, researching how Scottish farmers could grow fibre flax and manufacture sustainable linen NHS scrubs (and eventually replace all petrochemical fast fashion!). I currently collaborate with the Soil Association, Landworkers Alliance, V&A Dundee, NHS Scotland and 5 Scottish unis on this project. I think the research and relationships I have developed through this work could help in writing policies on agriculture, textiles manufacturing and procurement. I also have experience in organising and hosting events, such as seminars and demos about sustainable textiles. I perform accordion with the Barrow Band, teach textiles repairs at a repair cafe, and have run banner making workshops for parades.

It is an exiting time to be involved in the Edinburgh Greens and I would like to play my part in helping to take us to the next level of electoral success. After a record number of Green votes this year, the 2027 elections provide an opportunity for the party to be ambitious about what can be achieved. With an excellent campaign that builds on the Holyrood campaign and one that learns the lessons from the 2022 election we should be aiming to be the biggest party in the council.

I have been involved in helping to organise election campaigns in Edinburgh since the 2019 Westminster general election and feel I have experience I can offer to make the 2027 campaign the best it can be.

I work as a civil engineer which involves planning and organising large projects and programmes of work - which brings a lot of transferrable skills for an election campaign.

I care deeply about creating communities where everyone can participate, belong and influence decisions. It isn't just about making sure that spaces are accessible, but also ensuring that spaces, discussions, and outcomes happen in an environment and community that fosters a sense of belonging and autonomy. I would like to use this role to support members across Edinburgh, and anyone who wishes to engage with the Greens work, so they can confidently engage, and see how their lived experience is acknowledged and integrated into the pillars of equality, diversity and inclusion that is central to the culture of the party.

I have previously been described as "a widening participation dream"—a queer, neurodivergent, disabled woman from an impoverished background. In my final year, I revived the disabled students group after over five years of inactivity, securing the institution's first sensory space, sensory hours, accessibility funding, and ambassador training. As Education Officer, representing 19k+ students, I developed inclusive educational practice, guidance for trans students, and accessibility resources. Across student representation, disability advocacy, and community work, I have helped people engage with decision-making in ways that are anti-racist, intersectional, trans-inclusive, and empowering, ensuring diverse voices are heard and acted upon.

I would like to be elected to the role of Clerk to perform the duty of producing Minutes – by recording the official proceedings at Committee meetings, Branch meetings, Annual general meeting and Extra-ordinary general meeting. I would ensure that the Minutes / documents are stored and shared with co-convenors, members and the national party.

Working with and supporting colleague Clerk and co-convenors, I will ensure that the administrative systems of the branch are running, such as booking meeting venues, updating committee activities tracker, tracking the progress of actions, monitoring branch email inbox, organising important branch documents, etc.

I was Club Secretary, member of the Board and signatory to its bank accounts, at Rotary International’s Rotary Club of Lagos. At Rotary, I organized weekly club meetings and monthly Board meetings. I provided oversight and managed its administrative architecture to support its various committees, including membership, finance, etc. I wrote, produced minutes of club meetings, Board meetings and AGMs; and circulated to all Board and club members.

I was Livelihoods Advisor (Assistant), at UK Government Department for International Development. At DFID, I provided advisory and administrative support to program managers who implemented the UK Government's programs in agriculture and water sectors.

I am University-educated in the UK and Nigeria.

I am a lifelong politics nerd with a passion for campaigning for human rights and climate issues. Having recently finished a master's in political communication and public affairs, I would like to put the skills and knowledge I gained to good use. With a strong social media and communications campaign, we have the opportunity to spread awareness of the importance of local elections, whilst also making Edinburgh Green! On top of this, I want to show how fun it is to participate in local politics and help build a strong team of volunteers and supporters to increase support for the Scottish Greens in Edinburgh and across the country.

Through my studies, I have gained a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's in political communication. I have built strong skills in writing, content creation, and digital engagement. Additionally, I am currently a digital communications volunteer with the climate activism group Edinburgh Climate Coalition (ECC). My work included multiple pieces of social media content, including informational carousel, memes, and videos. I was also tasked with creating a leaflet to be handed out at street stalls, protests, and events. Using Canva and social media management tool Buffer, this content was posted on Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn, and accumulated over 2k impressions within 24 hours and a 121% increase in Instagram followers.

I'm comfortably retired, so I am priveleged to have time that I can put towards what I believe in. I'm reasonably fit and currently healthy, so I can often find energy to do things I care about. I'm quite old, so the roles that I consider most suitable for me are to be supportive of those who will be carrying on long into your planetary future. Being an Ordinary Member of the working group supporting sub-branches and members is, in my opinion, a very good fit.

I am excited by the challenges and opportunities that are before us in the SGP. I have been political involved for many decades; I'm happy to still be learning about building the progressive movement. While in the Edinburgh Branch, I've had the privelege to be involved at levels of a local team, a sub-branch, working groups, the branch committee, the National Council and the Standing Orders Committee. Despite this or because of this, I relish sharing my energy and your energies in making real, positive change.

The state of the world, in particular hurtling into a climate crisis, feels suffocating. Politics seems to me to be one of the strongest ways to make meaningful change and the Scottish Greens is the only party showing real commitment to tackling issues.

Witnessing and being part of the branch committee, a group of hard working and motivated people, has been really fulfilling. I'd like to continue to contribute to the smooth running of the branch by standing for a committee position.

As current Edinburgh Branch Clerk, I manage email accounts, take minutes at branch and committee meetings, and support the branch co-conveners. This practical experience means I will be able to jump straight back into the role.

Further experience on university committees such as Dirty Weekenders (conservation volunteering society), Permaculture Gardening Society, and Slurp (student action on homelessness society) support me with knowledge of how to work as a team and inner workings of committees.

I have extensive election campaign organising experience, and have played a key role in organising campaigns locally and nationally in every election since I joined the party in 2014. I’ve been Co-Convenor of the national Elections and Campaigns Committee, and served as branch Co-Convenor between 2021 and 2023. I’ve previously been on the Elections and Campaigns Group for the past two years.

In my day job I’m a Policy and Public Affairs Manager for a national charity, and live in Gorgie.

It would be an honour to return to the Elections and Campaigns Group, to help deliver our most successful local election campaign!

Having been a member of the party and the Edinburgh branch for almost 5 years, I am keen to get involved in supporting the branch heading into the 2027 Edinburgh council elections. Leafletting, canvassing and attending the count for the 2022 Edinburgh council elections was how I first got involved in the party and I know from seeing the party's success in the recent Holyrood election we have a real shot at really turning Edinburgh green next year so I would love a chance to join the committee as an ordinary member for one of the working groups to play a part in (hopefully!) getting a record number of Edinburgh councillors elected!

I have held many roles across mulitple levels of the party. Currently, I'm the Membership Officer for the Young Greens, however I've previously been on the Comms and Policy & Campaigns working group, as well as Clerk for the Central Edinburgh Greens and Co-Convener of the Lothian Young Greens (which I'm working on reviving with the new regional boundaries!). These roles have given me wide knowledge of the party that I hope will enable me to contribute to the branch. Outside of the party, I am currently the trade union rep for my workplace in the culture sector and I'm in my 3rd year studying Social Sciences. This has furthered my political knowledge which I hope to use as part of the Campaigns group. Thank you for your consideration!

Ahead of the 2027 local elections, when the Greens could decisively shape Edinburgh Council's polcies, getting the manifesto right matters enormously. I want to help convene a process that connects the party's national policy vision to what Edinburgh Council can actually deliver: on housing, transport, climate resilience, and democratic renewal. Having read in detail both the SGP Policy Reference Document and the 2022 Edinburgh manifesto in depth, I have a number of ideas on where local policy can be strengthened and where council powers have been underused. I am eager to bring rigour to that process while ensuring diverse voices across the branch genuinely shape the final document.

As a political scientist with expertise in democratic theory, social policy, and migration, I bring both analytical rigour and a working familiarity with the SGP's Policy Reference Document and Edinburgh's council responsibilities. In local elections policy must be primarily local in its scope and delivery and that realisation is critical for a credible, deliverable manifesto. As an academic I have previously facilitated workshops, managed research projects, and distilled complex policy into accessible language. My contributions to the branch's collective work ahead of 2027 are based on these experiences and directly relevant to convening a manifesto working group, supporting editorial oversight, and briefing members on conference motions.

I joined the party in 2014, but became heavily involved in the branch and CEG sub-branch after campaigning for Jule Bandel during the 2022 council elections. I have enjoyed being on the committee, first as a Communications Ordinary Member for 2 years, and over the past year as Sub-branch and Member Support Officer.

As SBMS Officer, Core-Campaigns Team member, and door-knocker it has been an honour to help the branch and sub-branches achieve our best ever election result. I would love to continue that work into next year's council elections.

Were I to continue in the SBMS role I would continue to support West Lothian in becoming an operational Sub-branch. I would work on facilitating collaboration and skill-sharing between sub-branches.

Over 3 years of branch committee I believe I have made valuable contributions to discussions and direction. I have demonstrated that I can organise and put in the work. For instance I have:

• coordinated most seasons of Green News in Edinburgh over the past three years, even after leaving the Comms Working Group

• helped West Lothian in becoming operational over the past year, including organisng canvassing sessions in Linlithgow and Livingston

• helped establish the Central Scotland Campaign Board for the last election

• have supported or arranged support for teams that have needed some help

I have 29 years of experience in the software industry, including running a succesful agency for 10 years and 6 years organising an international conference.

People like Zohran Mamdani and Zack Polanski have inspired me to get more involved at a grassroots level, showing that politics built around genuine fairness, equality and community can actually win. The values the Scottish Green Party stands for resonate with me and motivate me to act. At the same time, it's clear the political centre is dying, and divisive, hateful, billionaire-funded parties like Reform are filling that gap faster than progressive movements. This concerns me deeply. I want to help the Greens change this, not just at a national level, but ward by ward, and being part of this committee is the right place to do that.

I have a solid understanding of Scotland's national and local electoral system and past election results, and I'm focused on what we can build ahead of the council elections. Earlier this year, I door-knocked, delivered leaflets and posters in Edinburgh Central in the run-up to polling day, worked throughout polling day itself, and attended the count the following day to sample. Playing my small part in a historic Green result across Edinburgh and Scotland. I've been a member since the start of the year, and I'm willing to take on more responsibility. I'm relatively young and new to the party, but I bring real energy and a genuine eagerness to learn from more experienced members of the committee.
