Why would you like to be elected to the role(s) you are standing for?
I’m standing for this role because the Green Party is the party that truly centres climate, social and racial justice together. As a non-binary migrant living and working in Wester Hailes, I’ve seen how poverty, exclusion, and racism intersect—and how political spaces can often feel disconnected from people’s lived realities. I’ve led grassroots projects rooted in care and solidarity, but inclusion can’t stop at the door. Many face real barriers: language, trauma, precarity, and poverty. That’s why we must create welcoming spaces to invite people in, and also reach out to where people feel safe—building trust and making our branch a place where marginalised folk shape decisions, not just attend them.
What skills, knowledge and life experience would you bring to the role(s) you are standing for?
I bring lived experience as a non-binary migrant, community activist, and front-line worker active in grassroots organising across Edinburgh’s underrepresented communities. I’ve led youth programmes, anti-racist campaigns, and inclusive walking, cycling, and arts initiatives—always grounded in care, equity, and collective action. I’m a skilled facilitator and organiser with strong local networks. I understand how language, trauma, discrimination, mental health, and poverty create barriers to participation, and I’ve built trust with communities often excluded from political and decision-making spaces. I hope to strengthen the branch in supporting and empowering marginalised communities to drive change from the bottom up.
