During scheduled branch meetingsEach month a representative of elected councillors and a representative of elected MSPs will provide a written report to the branch committee on their work from the current month of, which will be distributed to branch membership by email. Short verbal reports will also be made by councillor representatives and MSPs at at least 3 branch meetings a year, including at the meeting on behalf of their groupAGM.

Reason

It is not always appropriate to reserve time for Cllrs and MSPs to speak at branch events - for example, where we have external speakers or where time is very limited. This amendment keeps the spirit of the motion in ensuring that our representatives do report their work to the branch - and in a timely fashion! - but does not stipulate that they must do so at every branch meeting.

During scheduled branch meetingsInsert in Constitution new Section 6.2 Each month a representative of elected councillors and a representative of elected MSPs will report work from the current month of the meeting on behalf of their group to the branch committee, which will be distributed to branch membership by email.


Where a scheduled branch meeting occurs that month a verbal report will also be made as part of that meeting.

Reason

Amendment to motion to ensure that reports are delivered to members every month (via email), not only months where a branch meeting occurs.
