Statement
I am a film-maker, artist and teacher who has worked in a range of organisations and educational institutions as a researcher, creative producer, project manager and lecturer. I have spent most of my working life as a freelance in the arts, music and media sectors, editing and producing for elevision, arts and corporate sectors while developing an internationally acknowledged personal practice in creative media arts. After completing a Biology degree, I spent time working in the music industry before going on to gain a media arts post-graduate diploma at DJCAD, Dundee University. In 2011 I gained an MSc degree with distinction in Sustainable Development through the University of the Highlands and Islands. I feel this breadth of Science, Arts and Social Science education gives me a uniquely interdisciplinary perspective. I have physical mobility limitations and hope that my experience would be valuable in helping shape policy and perspectives in the Scottish Green Party. Like many others I have been a Scottish Green Party member since 2014. I see that local democratic engagement through a more independent Scotland is away to achieve a fairer, more just and environmentally secure future. I have been an ordinary committee member for the past two years and have been impressed by the energy and commitment of the Edinburgh branch. I would be very pleased to be part of the committe again..
