Statement
The Green party is the only political party I’ve ever had a strong connection with and I find myself now with my life experiences ready to stand up and represent it.
Having not succeeded in running for a council candidate for 2022 I am keen to be involved as best as I can be as this is really the beginning of my involvement of the party other than just being a supporter.
To date I’m an ethical goldsmith, an ambassador for change in my industry. I’ve been to 3rd world artisanal gold mines and in 2018 ran a prominent campaign around the exploitational areas in the gold and jewellery supply chains. I brough high end retailers to the table to the table to have an honest conversation about sustainable change. Now it is this campaigning and my passion for fairness and equality that I believe will serve me well within the Greens.
I am a Rospa & Neebosh occupational level three qualified health and safety advisor which is very useful for areas such as conducting risk assessments. I am compassionate and understanding with people, a team player and leader when required to be so. I am a strong public speaker and confident in addressing crowds. I have worked as a technician and tutor for the leith school of art, an extra in several adverts and film productions and run two successful businesses in the jewellery trade.
I hope that my passions for fairness in my industry and for the planet, as well as my life skills, will be helpful in any committee roles that I might be considered for.
