Committee Nomination: Andrew Brough
Statement
I’m keen to work in the new role of Policy and Campaigns officer. We absolutely need to promote our elected members work and connect that into local campaigns in the run up to both 2021 and 2022 and coordinate/promote new campaigns that Branch can get behind and engage the public in too. However as the Branch Committee election allows for a set of preferences and I have listed others roles on committee that I would be very happy to serve in.
A major part of the role will be to promote the great work our elected representatives have and are doing. Last year I chaired the snap general election campaign board and helped canvassing within Edinburgh East which gained the highest Green vote across Scotland in the general election. This all means I have skills across the board on campaigning, elections, working for the last year in a job share, and great working relationships with many of our Councillors and MSPs to enable me to do this role.
So I wish to stand for the Policy and Campaigns to focus on campaigns within Branch and the policy input into manifesto writing and development. To promote our MSPs and Councillors work and run that to support the election campaigns coming up.
I hope the above information will enable you to see what a good fit for the role I would be and to vote for me to carry this out. So please vote Andrew Brough for the role of Policy and Campaigns officer..
