Committee Nomination: Alys Mumford
Statement
I've been involved in the Edinburgh Greens committee as the fundraising officer for the past couple of years, having been co-convener previously, and I am constantly in awe of the amount of work that the Edinburgh Committee does to keep the branch running, contest elections, and share the green message. I would be happy to continue lending my support to these efforts, as fundraising officer or in another post as required.
We face a really challenging few years ahead, as we fight for climate justice, an end to austerity, and for a green and caring recovery from Covid-19. And that's not even to mention the two major elections for the Scottish Greens - Holyrood 2021 and Local Authorities 2022. Throughout all of this, we need a committee which will stay true to our ideals of social and economic justice, equality, and sustainability, while also doing all of the behind the scenes work to keep things running smoothly.
In my day job, I work as the communications and engagement manager at a feminist policy organisation, and am involved in several activist groups in Edinburgh. Please elect me so I can put my skills towards supporting green members in Edinburgh .
