Statement
I have been involved in Green Party politcs for 15 years. After moving to Scotland two years ago, I joined the Scottish Greens. I was first involved locally in the 2022 local council elections working mostly on canvassing.
I am retired. My main occupation was in local authority leisure centre management. I try to spend most of my time outdoors, walking the dog, camping and climbing mountains. I like beer, live music and going out.
During the past year, as co-membership secretary for North Edinburgh and Leith sub-branch, I have:
Carried out the duties of membership secretary, initially on my own and then in the last few months, jointly alongside Tara Coldwell Brock.
Produced a joint report for the 2023 AGM outlining the achievements of the Membership Secretaries’ role during the year. The report proposes further action for the coming year.
Attended most NEL branch meetings and NEL executive meetings.
Attended a number of Edinburgh branch and executive meetings.
Been a member of the Edinburgh branch Events and Fundraising working party. As part of that role I helped with the organisation of the Auction of Promises which raised over £1000 for the Edinburgh branch to support our local campaigning.
Delivered Autumn and Spring editions of Green News in Leith.
Helped out at Green Party stalls at Leith Links.
Attended some Green Party organised litter picks.
Organised and led a number of Green walks throughout the year.
